Roger & Angie (Westegaard) Hejl

We've been sweethearts since our senior year at YHS and married almost 36 years.   We has a great life together and still live in Yankton.
Roger graduated from USDS and worked for John Deere 12 years and as automotive supervisor at the Yankton Federal Prison (former Yankton College) for 23 years.   He retired Oct. 1, 2011.   He now keeps very busy helping friends with farming/ranching/remodelling.
Angie initially worked as an RN, but has been a YHS biology teacher since 1994.   She acquired a PhD and National Board Certification along the way.   She also received the 2010 Presidential Award in Science (worth $10,000 and a handshake from President Obama during a White House award meeting).
Our son, Dan, and wife Kelly (from New York) live in Phoenix, AZ, and have two children, Mattea, 6, and Cooper, 3.   Our daugther, Heidi, and husband Jesse (from Sioux Falls) live in Portland, OR, and have one son, Desmond, 1.
The majority of our free time is spent travelling to see Grandkids and hiking or cycling.  Below is a picture of us on a hike by a lake and our Grandchildren (left to right) Desmond, Cooper and Mattea.
